R&B star Akon is back at the top of the US singles chart with a second hit from the same album. The singer's Don't Matter has jumped from three to one to claim the top spot on the new Billboard chart.
Akon was last on top when I Wanna Love You, another track from his hit album Konvicted, spent two weeks at number one in December. A third track from the album, Smack That, peaked at number two in November, after making what was then the largest jump in the history of the Hot 100.
That record has been broken this week by Beyonce and Shakira's Beautiful Liar duet, which shoots up the chart from number 94 to number three. Fergie's former charttopper, Glamorous, falls a spot to number two and another former number one, Mims' This Is Why I'm Hot slips two place to the new number four.
The highest debut on the new chart belongs to crooner Michael Buble's Everything, which enters the Hot 100 at number 46.
