Andrew Kennedy was born in Bogota, Colombia. His mother is a
short Colombian woman, his father an absent minded (but highly intelligent)
Englishman. Andrew spent most of his childhood moving around the world and by
the time he was thirteen had lived in seven countries, spanning three
continents.
Andrew got into comedy in 1994 in Norwalk, Connecticut where he began telling
stories about growing up all over the world with an absent minded proffesor for
a father and a short Colombian woman for a mom (this being the same woman who in
the uber-exclusive town of New Canaan, Connecticut, was mistaken for an overly
affectionate maid.
Andrew speaks fluent Spanish and has done comedy around the world. Twice he has
been asked to perform at the prestigious Montreal Comedy Festival. His first
visit culminated in a deal with CBS to develop, produce and then star in his own
television pilot later named Related by Marriage
His comedy is autobiographical and centers on his relationships with his wife,
three children and extended family. He is in the process of finishing a pilot
for network consideration with his good friend and writer, producer and director
of West Bank Brooklyn , Ghazi Albuliwi. The upcoming 'Comedy Central Presents'
taping which will air in the fall of this year, will prove to be the exposure he
needs to have the networks want to give him a second shot at stardom.
