Jim Labriola's career began in New York's famous Catch a Rising Star Comedy
Club. From there he went on the road to become a favorite in comedy clubs all
across America. Jim became good friends with Tim Allen after opening for him at
The Governor's Comedy Club in Long Island in 1989. This relationship gave Jim
the opportunity to appear on Home Improvement in 1993.
Jim's role on Home Improvement grew from his first guest appearance as a
deliveryman to the very popular regularly occurring character 'Benny Barony'.
Jim also appeared in Disney's huge holiday hit The Santa Clause. Even
though his career was at its apex, Jim felt empty and noticed the personal
problems of many famous people around him. Although Jim had given up alcohol in
1983 and had responded to a Billy Graham message, he decided to fully devote his
life to Christ. This led Jim to a growing love of the scriptures and to
fellowship with God's people.
Jim now travels the country speaking at churches, business meetings, outreach
events and appearances on television and film. Jim shares his unbelievable
experience as a kid growing up in an abusive family in New York City, his
addiction to alcohol, his rise to fame, his career in Hollywood and his
relationship with Jesus Christ. His story is truly inspiring!
Jim's television credits include Home Improvement, Monty, Love &
War, Colin Quinn Special Going Back to Brooklyn, Comedy on the
Road and Caroline's Comedy Hour. Film credits include: The
Santa Clause, It'll Kill You, The Con Job. Personal
appearances include Catch A Rising Star, Dangerfield's,
Comic Strip, Stand Up N.Y., Caroline's, Comedy Store,
Laugh Factory, The Improv, Jim Labriola's Night of a
Thousand Guidos.
