Through a mixture of hard work and comedy, Ronn Lucas puts on one of the finest ventriloquist acts performed today. Ronn's past characters include Buffalo Billy, the child-like, foam-faced, con-artist from Texas; a seven-hundred year old female troll named Tillie; a tear-apart punk rocker impervious to pain called Chuck; and of course an orphaned, fire-breathing, rapping, teenaged dragon named Scorch. Ronn can also bring to life a wide range of inanimate objects and do some amazing voice throwing without revealing a trace of the voices' origin. Clearly, something oddly delightful happens when Ronn Lucas enters a room or walks on-stage. Audience-members quickly discover the inner voices of all kinds of things: pets, plants, shirts, plates, photographs, and the contents of their pockets -- you name it. "The thing is, Ronn likes to devise new ways of making an audience laugh and have a good time, and that means not doing things the way they've always been done before. That's why he has developed the routine where a volunteer from the audience is turned into an oversized talking doll, as well as the improvisational routines involving found objects in the theater." All of which makes perfect sense and seems to accurately describe some of the comedy routines Ronn Lucas performs around the world.
