Bowling For Soup is a Denton, TX based, rock and roll machine
with a live show that is more fun than is usually aloud in clubs where clothes
are "supposed" to stay on. This POWER POP band formed in June of 1994 when a
Wichita Falls, TX punk band, and a band of barefooted, candle burnin, folksters,
combined to form a force that would totally take over the music world as we know
it today. (We estimate that this will occur in the next few days.)
The sound is a wall of guitars, layers of harmony vocals, and a driving beat
that makes you wanna jump up and down and give the guy next to you a hug.
Bowling For Soup has toured non-stop for the past three years, playing from
Texas to Nebraska, New York to Florida, and everywhere in between and back
again. Their calendar boasts more than 200 shows in both 1997 and 1998, and will
see to 300 performances in 1999. They have supported Blink 182, Marvelous 3,
Collective Soul, Eve 6, LIT, Hagfish, Local H, Sammy Hagar, The Toadies, The
Nixons, Tripping Daisy, Stabbing Westward, Agent Orange, Reel Big Fish, Less
Than Jake, C&C Music Factory (Seriously), Ugly Americans, and a bunch of other
bands that you might know, might have broken up, BFS may have forgotten, or that
really pissed them off do not deserve to be mentioned.
Bowling For Soup signed with JIVE/ Silvertone records in December of 1999 and
are currently gearing up for the release of their first nation wide release,
"Let's Do It For Johnny," Which will be IN STORES April 18, 2000. The first
single on the album, THE BITCH SONG, has already made a huge impact on national
radio, and is lighting up the phones everywhere it is played.
Bowling For Soup continues to make its way across the country, winning over
audiences of all ages.
