Pop chanteuse Dido entered London's Guildhall School of Music at age six, and had mastered the piano, the violin and the recorder by the time she was 10. After touring with a classical music ensemble during her teen years, she began performing with a series of bands around London. Most noteworthy of these bands was the trip-hop outfit Faithless, fronted by Dido's brother Rollo. Despite being told by her big brother to "keep her day job," Dido continued to record her own demo while performing with Faithless. The success of Faithless' debut album Reverence, which sold over five million copies, helped propel Dido's solo career. She signed with Arista Records and released her debut album, No Angel, in 1999. Dido also appears on Faithless' most recent release, Sunday 8PM.
