QUIET RIOT, is undoubtedly one of the most popular of the
Eighties era bands who have sold millions of albums and climbed to the top of
the Billboard charts with the #1 chart topping release of "Metal Health."
"Metal Health" was released in March of 1983 on the Billboard
album charts. The album began a slow but steady climb, but by November 26, 1983,
the band found themselves sitting on top of a million-selling album, and with
the single, “Cum on Feel the Noize,” breaking the top five on Billboard’s
singles chart and going on to sell well over a million copies of the single on
it's own and winning the group legions of adoring fans. "Metal Health" went
platinum six times over with the help of heavy rotation of videos for both
“Metal Health - Bang Your Head” and “Cum on Feel the Noize” on MTV. The band hit
the road in America in early 1983 with bands like Scorpions, ZZ Top, Iron
Maiden, and Black Sabbath. They crossed over to Europe for a jaunt with Judas
Priest, and they opened Heavy Metal Sunday at the US Festival, playing before
more than 350,000 people. In no time at all, Quiet Riot was itself a headliner,
ensuring the metal health of America with a rigorous string of tour dates for
their worldwide tours. QUIET RIOT has consistently recorded and released records
throughout their twenty plus year career.
QUIET RIOT smashed into the 21st Century with the 2001
release of their "Guilty Pleasures" CD and exhibited some of the best song
writing from the band to date. Quiet Riot hit the road in support of "Guilty
Pleasures" as part of the 2001 "Glam Slam Metal Jam" tour with Poison, a
successful jaunt that echoed 1998’s "Rock Never Stops" tour along with
Firehouse, Slaughter and Warrant. Plans were made to record for posterity the
20th anniversary of the band, and in September 2002 Quiet Riot was captured on
film onstage at the Key Club in Los Angeles with a subsequent release of a DVD
and CD of their performance.
Continuing the tradition of QUIET RIOT, the band will release
a very special set of recordings, "QUIET RIOT LIVE & RARE - VOLUME I" their
first ever official live release in January of 2005. The material was culled
from the archives of concert material from their groundbreaking 1983 "Metal
Health" tour, their explosive headline "Condition Critical" tour of 1984 as well
as including three never before heard demo tracks from 1981 for the "Metal
Health" record.
QUIET RIOT is once again revitalized and ready to bring it's
brand of Rock & Roll Metal to old and new fans alike!
