Regina Belle's voice exudes a warmth and familiarity that has been absent from the airways and sales charts in recent years. Like a gentle, moving breeze, Regina Belle's falsetto builds and the listener is reminded of a time when love-laden ballads were the norm, and rich distinctive vocals were cherished. Simply stated, Regina Belle's voice is an R&B treasure.
In response to the current void in the realm of classic R&B music, Regina Belle offers, "This is Regina," a 12-song myriad of the complexity of female emotions -- wanting, waiting, love, passion, forgiveness and gratitude. Along with her own writing and production talents, Belle solicited the expertise of Ira Antelis (CeCe Winans, Patti LaBelle, Marc Anthony), Chris Robinson (Marc Anthony, Marc Nelson) and Sam Sims (Deborah Cox, Chante' Moore) who tours with Backstreet Boys as a bass player, along with Darrel Smith. In addition, she has re-teamed with her brother, renowned songwriter, Bernard Belle (The Winans, Guy, Bobby Brown) as well as Barry Eastmond, with whom she found success with her debut album.
A veteran of the major record label experience, Belle has switched gears and joined the ranks of the independent world for the release of "This is Regina." Crediting her new label home with "making the record happen and exceeding [my] every expectation," Belle welcomes her new journey with Peak Records. "Working with Peak has been a breath of fresh air -- they have remained focused on my project and for that, I am wholly gratified," she notes.
