Richard Marx

Pop rock singer-songwriter Richard Marx got his start singing radio and television commercials and eventually started recording as a backup vocalist with Lionel Richie ("All Night Long") and writing songs for Kenny Rogers and Chicago. Marx's 1987 self-titled debut produced the hits "Don't Mean Nothing," "Should've Known Better" and the chart-topping "Hold On to the Nights." Marx success continued on his second release, 1989's Repeat Offender, which spawned two No. 1 hits: "Right Here Waiting" and "Satisfied." After the release of Rush Street in 1991, Marx went on a three-year hiatus. In 1994 he resurfaced with Paid Vacation, featuring the Top 10 single, "Now and Forever." After another three-year break, Marx switched gears, taking on a more adult contemporary sound for his latest album, Flesh and Bone, which was released on Capitol in 1997.
