On a hot July night in 2002, Dan Seals invited his
brother Jim to join him onstage at the famed Grand Ole Opry. Those on hand not
only jumped to their feet after hearing songs, that have become a soundtrack of
sorts to a whole generation, but they also witnessed the birth of a new duo.
As the initial half of seventies rock duo "Seals & Crofts," Jim Seals and his
partner Dash Crofts enjoyed a string of five gold albums for Warner Bros. from
1972 to 1976. An additional greatest-hits compilation reached double platinum
status. Their hit singles from the period included "Summer Breeze," Diamond
Girl," "We May Never Pass This Way Again,"and "Get Closer."
In the meantime, Jim's younger brother Dan who’d formed bands of his own in the
late Sixties joined John Ford Coley and formed their own duo to signed a
recording contract with A&M Records. The two went on to record a string of
enduring hits as, "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight,", "Nights Are Forever
Without You," and Love is The Answer ," which today continue to receive airplay
worldwide.
