With a career that spans more than twenty-five years, it's no great surprise that James Taylor's musical influence has reached just about every corner of the globe. Since leading the singer-songwriter movement in the early 70s, James Taylor has gone on to refine his style, changing over the years while still maintaining the musical craftsmanship that garnered so much attention early in his career. James Taylor was a big part of the folk revolution of the 1960s and early 1970s, recording hits like 'Carolina in My Mind,' 'Sweet Baby James,' and Carole King's 'You've Got A Friend.' James Taylor was married for a time to singer Carly Simon, and their passionate relationship and breakup was much publicized. Also much publicized were James Taylor's struggles with depression and heroin addiction. James Taylor has continued to tour and record throughout the 1980s and 1990s, emerging as a kind of elder statesman of pop music.

Now in 2005, James Taylor is still considered an icon and continues to perform in a large number of corporate parties each year.
