"I began my musical training as soon as my father could teach me. And even though he couldn't read a note of music, he just started teaching me how to play the piano. I could follow him when he played - we called it the fiddle, not the violin." Later on I was a music major in college but they were going to change my whole way of singing, I said, wait a minute, this is what I want to do! I knew that if I trained my voice their way, I might not be able to sing the way I wanted to sing. Being a Taurus, I changed my major to elementary education.
