In the tradition of the classical string quartet, composed of
two violins, a viola and a cello, Dallas String Quartet is a group of four
distinguished artists who perform at high levels and have numerous awards to
their names. The founder of this quartet is violist Ion Zanca, a recent graduate
of Southern Methodist University and the winner of SMU's 2005 concerto
competition.
All the members of the Dallas String Quartet received their education at famous
European schools and are graduates of Meadows School of the Arts at Southern
Methodist University. They maintain active solo and orchestral careers and can
be heard at venues such as the Meyerson, the Eismann Center, and Park Cities
Presbyterian Church. With a beautiful sound the Dallas String Quartet turns
simple moments into elegant events. Praised by numerous music lovers as a five
star quartet, the members of the group recently performed with the
Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the American Airlines Center.
In the course of a year, the Dallas String Quartet plays anywhere from fifty to
one hundred weddings and private/corporate events. They often work with places
such as the Dallas Museum of Art, the Dallas Arboretum and Perkins Chapel in
order to make your event memorable. When you book the quartet for your wedding,
your package comes with a free consultation regarding your music selections and,
if necessary, a member of the quartet can attend the wedding rehearsal.
