Mr. Codrescu is a world-famous poet, novelist, essayist,
screenwriter, columnist, National Public Radio commentator and editor of the
online literary journal, Exquisite Corpse. He is also the MacCurdy Distinguished
Professor of English at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Described as brilliant and insightful, tough and seductive, Codrescu speaks on
many topics offering a distinctly witty and wry perspective of American culture.
His speeches regularly draw large crowds and students will leave his forum with
a new
understanding of what it is to be an American. Born in Sibiu, Romania in 1946,
he came to the United States in 1966, and is now a naturalized citizen. He
resides in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana. A wordsmith par
excellence, Codrescu is nothing short of extraordinary.
