Dr. Pat Allen a Best-Selling Author, Speaker,
Psychotherapist, Communication and Relationship Expert, and a Certified
Transactional Analyst. Dr. Pat Allen presents practical insights, and
easy-to-use communication skills in her Androgynous Semantic Realignment (A.S.R.)
and patented system of language and communication, known as Wants Training, that
can be used immediately to improve and positively impact both business or
personal relationships, whether straight, gay or lesbian.
She has delivered a wide variety of successful keynote speeches, from the
National Association of Mover's Union from atop the bed of a flat bed truck, to
addressing U.S. Military organizations and other government agencies. She has
spoken to international audiences including to the Colgate Palmolive Conference
of Public Relations Executives, in Spain, on the subject of gender biases in
different cultures.
Dr. Allen is the author of numerous books, including her longtime bestseller
"Getting to 'I Do'" published by William Morrow, remarkably now in its 30th
printing! Other book titles include "Staying Married and Loving it,"
"Conversational Rape," "It's a Man's World and a Woman's Universe," and her new
"The Guy's Survival Kit." Dr. Allen is a licensed Marriage, Family, Child
Counselor and member of the Mational American Marriage, Family Therapists and
American Psychological Association, a Credentialed College-Level Life Educator
in the State of California, and she is Co-founder and President of the American
Depression Association.
Dr. Allen is also a Certified Addictions Specialist, from Harvard Medical
School. Recently, addressing the staff and community audience of approximately
400 at the Betty Ford Clinic, in Palm Springs, California, where she received a
standing ovation. Dubbed "The Love Doctor" by Lynn Smith of the Los Angles
Times, Dr. Pat Allen is a sought after speaker and has been featured in numerous
publications, including Cosmopolitan (recent article "Inside the Mysterious Male
Mind"). Pat has been a frequent guest on many TV shows, including four
appearances on Oprah, where Oprah said that many of her friends "...won't make
move without Dr. Pat Allen's guidance," and also called Pat a "Therapist, Comic
Mother Superior." Pat has made many appearances on CNM, Geraldo, Penn & Teller,
Maury Povich, "Eye on L .A.," "Blind Date," and many other major talk shows, as
well as her regular weekly segment on the KTLA Channel 5 Morning News. She is
also a regular guest on many radio shows all over North America.
In 1999, the romantic comedy feature length film "Duty Dating" was made, based
