 Glenn Parker, a former University of Arizona football star and later a 12-year National Football League veteran with five Super Bowl appearances, has joined the Fox Sports Net broadcast team to be the analyst for UA football telecasts. Parker, an offensive tackle at UA in 1988 and 1989 after playing two years at Golden West Junior College, earned All-Pac-10 honors as a senior and second-team All-America honors (Football News). In 2001, he was inducted into the UA's Sports Hall of Fame. A third-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills, Parker enjoyed a stellar NFL career, playing in Buffalo from 1990-96, Kansas City in 1997 and the New York Giants from 2000-2001 before retirement last year. He played all offensive line position except center during his career and with the Bills became one of only four NFL players to reach the Super Bowl in each of his first four seasons in the league. Later, with his 2000 Super Bowl appearance as a New York Giant, he became only the 12th NFL player to participate in five Super Bowls. Parker will team with long-time UA play-by-play announcer Dave Sitton on Fox Sports Net cablecasts or broadcasts in the Arizona market. It's his second stint as a football analyst, with previous experience working NFL Europe games for FOX in 2001. Parker will make his debut on Saturday, Aug. 31, when the Wildcats open the season at home against Northern Arizona University at 7 p.m. MST. Parker, an accomplished chef who also spent three offseasons as a tourn guide at the Robert Mondavi Wintery in Napa, Calif., is married to Casey Parker and the couple has four children, Madeline, Emily and twins Caroline and Williams.
