Before forming Leadership Synergies, John S. Parke was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BlueStep Inc., a technology company that works with associations and nonprofits. He has more than 18 years' experience with Marriott International, most recently as Vice President of the Global Sales Organization. In that capacity, he was responsible for overseeing more than 200 senior sales executives and $1.3 billion of annual revenues. Under Mr. Parke's leadership, the Marriott sales force was rated Number One by Sales & Marketing Magazine for three consecutive years. Mr. Parke is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) who has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and association community and serves on several boards, including Meeting Professionals International, E-Philanthropy, and Certified Meeting of Professionals. He also serves on the advisory boards of IAEM and Conference Direct, Inc. and is a member of ASAE, PCMA, and GWSAE. Mr. Parke is a frequent public speaker in the areas of building sales cultures, organizational branding, and personal branding. He has published articles in Board Member (Center for Nonprofit Boards), Executive Update (Greater Washington Society of Association Executives), The Meeting Professional (Meeting Professionals International), and CMP Update (Certified Meeting Professionals), and was a contributing author to E-Philanthropy Foundation's Guide to Fundraising on the Internet (2001).
