Before launching his private practice, he served as Senior Vice President of National Westminster Bank, CEO of an American Stock Exchange-listed closed-end investment company, a member of the Small Business Administration Advisory Council, and a professor of Business Management at Marymount Manhattan College and C.W. Post University's School of Business (where he currently is an adjunct professor). Pollan is a well-known personality on the lecture circuit as well. He has lectured across the country on commercial banking, credit issues, personal finance, and real estate. His corporate roles include Small Business consultant to AT&T and spokesperson for American Express, Commercial Credit Corporation (Prime America), Irving Trust Company, Manufacturers Hanover Trust, Citibank, N.A., New Zealand's telecommunications industry, and Intuit, a manufacturer of computer financial software.
