“Reading and writing is my life.” Adora says seriously. She hopes to use her own success to inspire other kids to take more of an interest in reading and writing.

“Nowadays children are lacking in reading and writing skills, and they are saying things like ‘I don't like to read' or ‘ I don't want to write.' That hurts me very much.”

Although Adora knows her stories are a way to reach out and inspire, she hopes this website will provide some insights of her success and a platform for visitors to access additional tool for their own reading and writing.

Adora Svitak is a published author, has appeared on national television, and dreams of becoming a journalist, historian, humanitarian, principal, teacher, archaeologist, actress and talk show hostess. By age two and half, Adora could read and write simple words, and read her first chapter book at age three and half. She started writing short stories at age four, started to type short stories at age six, and published her first book at age seven.

A history aficionado, Adora is working on “History Tips for Kids,” a project she hopes will help other kids realize that history doesn’t have to be boring. She is especially fond of reading about battles and weaponry, and her historical pieces are always action packed. One of her favorite books is The Century for Young People, a gift from the author, Peter Jennings. She also edits her school newspaper, writes contemporary fiction, and is working on a pirate epic called The Danger Ship.

Adora also recently completed a unique hands-on guide, Flying Fingers, which features a compilation of her stories followed by easy-to-follow writing tips from Adora, her mother, and her teacher.
