the Bacon Brothers have quickly become a poplar contemory act. With the critical success of their first CD, "Forosoco", along with sold-out concerts across the country, The Bacon Brothers have firmly established themselves as one of the country's most exciting, and popular, new artists. Coupled with memorable performances on such national television programs as The Tonight Show, The Rosie O'Donnell Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, it was an auspicious debut for any new artist. With "Getting There," their follow-up CD from Helena Music Co., Kevin and Michael Bacon broaden their musical repertoire and take their fans (and fans-to-be) on a journey through a beautiful array of songs and ballads that illustrate their great love and respect of music. "Getting There" also further showcases the brothers incredible songwriting skills. They are true storytellers. the Bacon Brothers, which consist of Kevin and his brother Michael Bacon, have written and played music together for well over twenty years, starting in the family basement. Success in their respective acting and music careers recently afforded them time to devote to the great passion they mutually share: music. In less than three years, The Bacon Brothers have proven to be a dynamic new force on the American music scene and one of the most popular live bands on the concert circuit. Kevin and Michael's musical influences are wide and varied. Their first CD, "Forosoco", easily answered the question as to what type of music they most admired and liked to play. An enticing mix of folk, rock, soul and country, it is a collection of rhythmic ballads and up-tempo songs infused with the sounds of the 60's and 70's - just the kind of music they both grew up listening to and admiring. The CD was nominated for "Independent Album of the Year" at the Los Angeles Music Awards. What distinguishes The Bacon Brothers from other bands is their passion for telling a good story, and every song on "Getting There" does just that. Concert highlights include opening for The Band at New York's Carnegie Hall, appearances on TNN's "Prime Time Country," TNT's "The Gift of Song" benefit concert in which they appeared along with Shania Twain, Wyclef Jean and many others, and a special performance on the ABC Television special saluting Elizabeth Taylor on her 65th birthday.
