Frank Sinatra has been called the defining voice of the 20th Century. For over five decades his performances were the apex of pop music. His renditions of songs such as I’ve Got The World On A String, Night And Day, The Lonesome Road, Three Coins In The Fountain, and of course the incomparable My Way make it difficult, if not impossible, for any other singer to include them in their repertoire.

The exception to this is Frank Sinatra, Jr. For many years Frank Sinatra, Jr. worked as his father’s music director. Absorbing the nuances of his father’s timing, expressions, stage presence and delivery of each song. In addition he carries within his genes the essence of his father’s vocal timbre. An element so crucial to the creation of this album.

Working with the orchestra he led for his father, Frank Sinatra, Jr. has interlaced authentic renditions of many of his father’s favorite tunes with personal memories of the people involved. His recollections include observations of the songwriters, arrangers, musicians and pivotal performances which highlighted his father’s illustrious career.

The orchestra recreates the arrangements, created by some of the greatest talents of this century...Nelson Riddle, Bill Rogers, Billy May...as perfectly as originally performed. Some members of the orchestra have been with “Ol’ Blue Eyes” for 35 years. All have shared the stage during memorable Sinatra performances.

The songs are as notable. Drawing from the talents of Cole Porter, Sammy Cahn, James Van Heusen, Paul Anka, Hoagy Carmichael, Jerome Kern, Oscar Hammerstein II, Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, As I Remember It touches on many of the greatest tunes of this century.

And of course the central element is Frank Sinatra, Jr., a great American singer in his own right. One who has been overshadowed in the past, but who has now stepped forward to accept the mantle relinquished by his father.

The name Frank Sinatra has for decades stood as the pinnacle of pop music culture. With this new compact disk the tradition continues.
