In the history of motorsport, few people have achieved quite so much as Jackie Stewart. As a Grand Prix driver between 1965 and 1973 Jackie Stewart set new standards in professionalism to achieve 27 victories from 99 starts, taking the world championship title in 1969, '71 and '73 with a racing style that consisted of flair, precision and courage.

Furthermore, few people have pushed the cause of safety in motorsport as hard and as far as Stewart, who lived through many of the sport's darkest days.

Both Jackie and son Paul have also been responsible for the rise of talents such as David Coulthard and Luciano Burti with the 'staircase of talent' that Paul Stewart Racing has provided to young drivers through from the junior categories through British Formula 3 and beyond.

Jackie’s relationship with the Ford Motor Company spans 34 years. Each of his three world championships was won in chassis powered by the legendary Ford Cosworth DFV and the partnership continued after Jackie hung up his racing boots in 1973. For almost three decades he has contributed to many of Ford’s road vehicle development programs and a new chapter in their long association began in 1996 with the creation of the Stewart-Ford team that, in only its third year, netted Ford's 175th and final Grand Prix victory.

With Jaguar Racing picking up the baton from Ford and Stewart Grand Prix, the powerful presence and determination of Jackie Stewart to help guide its first season can only augur well.
