New Age pianist Jim Brickman received classical training at the Cleveland Institute of Music, but instead of becoming a concert pianist he began writing jingles for advertisements. His commercial work led music writing projects for children's TV shows and, eventually, to a career as a solo artist. Brickman's 1994 debut, No Words, was followed in 1995 by By Heart and in 1997 by Picture This.
