Restless Heart Comparing Restless Heart to pop legends isn't as far-fetched as it might seem. With the exception of its RCA label mates Alabama, no country band in history has had as many big cross-genre hits as this extraordinary group. Its 1986 single "I'll Still Be Loving You" crossed over from the top of the country charts to become a #3 adult/contemporary hit and a #33 pop success. In 1987 "Why Does It Have To Be (Wrong or Right)" hit #11 on the A/C charts.

"New York Hold Her Tight" became another A/C success that year. The 1992 top-10 country smash "When She Cries" went to #3 on the A/C hit parade and soared to #11 on Billboard's Hot 100 pop chart. In 1993 "Tell Me What You Dream" went all the way to #1 in the A/C field. All of this in addition to 15 top-10 and six #1 country blockbusters that remain hallmarks of the style. To this day, the sound of a Restless Heart classic on the radio can quicken your pulse, have you reaching for the volume knob and might set your mind to dancing. Go ahead - sing along. Millions of Restless Heart fans have and still do. Producer Tim DuBois brought the members of Restless Heart together in 1984. From the start, there was intensity and conviction in the sound made by Dittrich, lead vocalist Larry Stewart, guitarist Greg Jennings, bassist and vocalist Paul Gregg, and pianist Dave Innis.

The group blended its back roads country training with the punch of contemporary pop, then layered harmonies of West Coast country-rock and the tight professionalism that only the finest Nashville players can achieve. The secret to the sound was a mixture of the polished sheen of the musicianship with the soulful, from-the-heart quality of the vocals. Grammy and CMA nominations tumbled forth. Restless Heart was named the Academy of Country Music's Vocal Group of the Year in 1990.
