Olympic Gold Medalist and 2003 WNBA Champion Swin Cash has become a key offensive presence for the Detroit Shock and has established her reputation for assertive play throughout the Eastern Conference. In 2004, Cash helped her team clinch a spot in the 2004 WNBA Playoffs and finished the season ranked 1st in free throws (158) and 5th in points (526). She was also named to the prestigious All-WNBA Second Team.

Cash was also a key member of the 2004 USA Women's Senior National Team, which brought home the Gold from the Olympic Games in Athens.

Cash had a stellar collegiate career at the University of Connecticut (UConn) in which she helped guide the Huskies to an undefeated 39-0 season and a national title. As a collegian Cash was selected to the prestigious 2002 Kodak All-American First Team and 2002 AP All-America Second Team, as well as All-Big East First Team and WBCA All-Star Team selection. She averaged 14.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.2 assist per contest in her senior campaign.

Swin, short for Swintayla, which means astounding woman, proves to be just that both on and off the court. When she is not playing basketball, she enjoys working with children and participating in various community service opportunities. In 2002, Cash graduated from UConn with a degree in Communications.
